40 Marathons in 40 days, Partner Tech support local charity, Zoe's Place

Published on 08 June 2011

To show their support, the team at Partner Tech UK ran with "Scouse Marathon Man" on his twelfth marathon and with only another eighteen marathons to go, Partner Tech continue to encourage Steve Hill (also known as "Scouse Marathon Man") in his challenge to run forty marathons in as many days in aid of the Liverpool based charity Zoe's Place.

Zoe's Place is a children’s hospice that provides palliative, respite and terminal care for babies/infants aged from birth to five years, it receives little government funding and therefore relies on people like Steve to help raise the additional £2.5million a year they need to stay open. Steve has raised £1800.00 so far but he hopes to exceed his target of £5000.00.

Published on 29 March 2011

Our presence at the Retail Business Technology Expo at Earl’s Court in March proved a great success and we were overwhelmed by the positive reaction to our latest EPoS solutions.

Our stand drew interest from several potential new resellers and high-profile end-users and we are now embarking on some exciting new relationships.

The ground-breaking EM-200 retail tablet computer provoked an enthusiastic response with visitors from a wide range of businesses. One major communications provider is now considering it as a tool for its large mobile sales force making home visits and stationed at pop-up stores in shopping centres.

The OT-200 handheld POS terminal also attracted interest from big-name restaurant chains who recognised the benefits of a flexible mobile ordering solution.

Meanwhile, our high-specification SP-1000 terminal with its sleek, contemporary design features was a hit with resellers to the retail industry who were attracted by its innovative secondary screen. The show gave us the opportunity to demonstrate how retailers can use it to market special offers, promote new lines and prompt customers to extend their purchases through active on-screen marketing at the point of ordering.

Tim Van den Branden, managing director of Partner Tech UK, said: “Reaction to our stand and solutions has been superb. The show provided us with a very effective platform to demonstrate our products in action and reveal exactly how their unique features can benefit any retail or hospitality business.”

Partner Tech launches new 15in all-in-one POS solution

Published on 20 January 2011

Partner Tech UK has boosted its all-in-one space-saving POS series with the launch of a new 15in touch screen model.

The PT-6215 completes Partner Tech’s range of compact terminals which integrate customer display, magnetic card reader and thermal printer into one machine, helping users reduce required counter space and eliminating hardware and software compatibility issues.

“In the PT-6215, we’ve combined a 1.6GHz Atom Processor with an industry standard 15in terminal and been able to maintain a compact footprint” says Partner Tech UK managing director, Tim Van den Branden.

“Each component is modular, which makes servicing easy, but all components are linked on the same boards and already communicating with each other, which means set-up costs are low and any software development can be kept to a minimum.

“We’ve listened to our customers’ needs and continued to develop our reliable plug-and-play system that is so versatile it will benefit a range of businesses, from newsagents to restaurants.”

Partner Tech unveils OT-200 handheld terminal

Published on 09 November 2010

EPoS specialist, Partner Tech, has unveiled its latest handheld terminal for the hospitality and catering industry.

The lightweight, compact OT-200 features a 4.3” LCD touchscreen, faster WIFI connectivity and greater software compatibility, thanks to its Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

“We’ve developed the OT-200 to help our customers avoid mealtime congestion and improve service,” explains Partner Tech managing director, Tim Van den Branden.

“Staff can take orders efficiently at the table and transmit them directly to kitchen and bar staff and fixed POS terminal via WIFI.
“In practice, this eliminates the need to input orders manually at a central computer and reduces queues, particularly at busy periods. It also gives staff more time to spend on the floor, responding to additional drink and food requests and enhancing revenues.”
Using Windows Mobile 6.5 also means setup times and costs can be kept to a minimum:

“Windows Mobile is an extremely versatile platform that works well with existing hospitality software packages without the need for reprogramming costs and delays,” says Van den Branden.

This compatibility teamed with a selection of bolt on accessories means the OT-200 can be used in a variety of situations.

Partner Tech EM-200 tablet PC wins major innovation award

Published on 29 September 2010

Partner Tech’s EM-200 POS-based tablet PC has been heralded as one of the world’s most exciting new industrial technologies by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Department of Industrial Technology.

The EM-200 fought off strong competition to win the 2010 Industry Innovation Achievement Award, which recognises breakthrough technologies and is regarded as one of the most prestigious accolades in the globally-acclaimed Taiwanese technology sector.
Since its worldwide launch earlier this year, the EM-200 has created a stir in the traditional POS market. The lightweight, slimline, mobile terminal is part of a new generation of touch-panel tablet PCs and was designed to offer unlimited possibilities to a wide variety of industries, from hospitality and retail to education, healthcare and logistics. It can be used as a mobile PC as well as a stand-alone POS terminal and applications include sales, ordering, stock-taking, reporting, handling credit applications and making presentations

Tim Van den Branden, managing director of Partner Tech UK, said: “The EM-200 perfectly illustrates Partner Tech’s commitment to understanding the needs of the market and developing ground-breaking products that help businesses operate more efficiently and cost-effectively, and we’re delighted that it has been recognised through such a prestigious award.”

Acclaim for the EM-200 follows the recent success of Partner Tech’s PT-6200 series of true all-in-one POS terminals, which integrate customer display, magnetic card reader and thermal printer into one machine, helping users reduce required counter and floor space.

Partner Tech unveils ground-breaking tablet PC at CeBIT and EuroCIS

Published on 04 March 2010

Come and meet us at CeBIT Stand D60, Hall 16 and EuroCIS Stand 14C63, Hall 14.

Partner Tech will unveil its ground-breaking new EM-200 tablet PC terminal at two of the world’s top digital technology fairs in Germany between the 2 and 6 March 2010.
We will be hosting stands at CeBIT in Hannover from 2 to 6 March and at EuroCIS in Düsseldorf from 2 to 4 March, where we will be showcasing our revolutionary new tablet PC to potential resellers, partners and large-scale end-users.
The EM-200 is a 10” lightweight, mobile computer with the aptitude and flexibility to meet a wide variety of operational and business needs.
Target customers include those in the hospitality, retail and property management industries where the EM-200’s uses are vast and include mobile and big-ticket retail sales, ordering, stock-taking, reporting, handling credit applications and making presentations.
“The EM-200 brings full-scale office IT out onto the restaurant floor, retail showroom, or into the homes and offices of customers, enabling users to carry out their work on the go without being forced to return to a fixed station or office,” says Partner Tech UK managing director, Tim Van den Branden.
“Using customised software and applications, it helps businesses run more efficiently and respond fully and immediately to customer requirements as they happen, boosting customer service and sales.”
A recessed base station means EM-200 users can also bypass the need to install a full EPoS system and instead connect the unit directly to a printer, cashdrawer or any other peripheral device.

The terminal’s lightweight, slim-line appearance belies its practical build features. Its resistive touch-panel screen has been designed to withstand dust and spills while its reinforced casing protects against day-to-day bumps and scuffs.

Partner Tech finds new ‘lease’ of life with Easi Rental

Published on 24 November 2009

EPOS manufacturer Partner Tech UK has found sales success with a new finance leasing company, in a move which could give a significant boost to the reseller market.

Easi Rental is an asset finance leasing company which specialises in the hospitality and retail markets. It enables resellers to offer lease facilities for equipment installation at clients’ venues, effectively reducing capital outlay whilst investing in their own rental book.

“A reseller nominates the equipment, hardware, software and services and is ‘paid out’ to the total cost of providing those to the customer,” said Chris Cartmell, Director of Easi Rental.

“Easi Rental manages the rental contract and the reseller provides service and support. After the initial outlay has been recouped the monthly rental is shared between the reseller and Easi Rental 50/50. At this stage the equipment is ‘jointly owned’ by the reseller and ourselves and if re-sited due to a default or end of term cancellation the reseller accrues his 50% from the start of the next contract.”

Easi Rental selected Partner Tech UK as a key manufacturer for its wide range of products and outstanding warranty terms. Chris explained: “Partner Tech’s range is versatile and durable, ensuring that its products will be valuable assets throughout their long lifespan. Partner Tech’s comprehensive warranty adds peace of mind, both for us, for the resellers, and for the end user.”

Tim Van den Branden, Partner Tech UK’s managing director, is excited about the opportunities the agreement will provide for new businesses in the hospitality and retail sectors. “The incentive which Easi Rental provides is a combination of financial security and business opportunity,” he said. “In the current climate, businesses at all levels are increasingly struggling to get favourable finance options from banks. Because of the way Easi Rental works, their acceptance rate is well over 90%, making it much easier for businesses to grow.”

Easi Rental aims to supply the full range of equipment for almost any hospitality or retail requirement.

The roadshow, organised by leading retail IT reseller EPOS Distributor, runs from the 9th to the 12th of November at Hilton hotels in four different cities in the UK: Luton, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow.

The events have an open exhibition format, allowing visitors to drop in at any time to try out the products. Partner Tech and EPOS Distributor staff will be on hand to demonstrate the products and answer questions.

New handheld terminal revolutionises order taking

Published on 30 September 2009

Partner Tech’s sleek new OT-100 handheld ordering terminal is set to give the catering and hospitality industries a complete makeover.

The OT-100 is a touchscreen wireless ordering terminal which is designed specifically with mobility in mind for waiters / bar staff to carry around instead of a notepad. When the staff key an order into the OT-100 it is instantly transmitted to the bar and to the kitchen, so the waiter has no need to return to the kitchen, and can then progress to serve the next customer.

The standalone functionality of the OT-100 allows waiters to function without static tills, increasing order taking speed and reducing waiting time for customers. With a member of staff circling tables and taking orders and another bringing the orders to the tables and taking payment, the efficiency advantage over current order processing is clearly visible.

For bars, the ability to take orders instantaneously at various locations throughout the venue and transmit them to staff at the bar removes the need for customers to queue for service, leading to a more relaxed drinking environment and, because there’s no need to queue, a faster sales process.

A flexible operating system means that the terminal can easily be integrated into any catering environment. The OT-100’s slender form LCD touchscreen interface make it an aesthetically pleasing alternative.

The OT-100 sports a 4.3” touch screen interface and Wi-Fi connectivity. Its pocket-friendly size and ability to withstand a drop of 1.2 metres makes it a sleek, rugged and powerful tool for waiting and bar staff. Despite the compact size, the OT-100 packs a fast CPU with plenty of memory. Pre-loaded with Windows CE 5.0, the OT-100 will be capable of running a respectable range of software.

Additional features on the OT-100 include an SD card reader, vibration alert, built-in speaker and a four-way direction sensor, making it ideal for a gamut of uses beyond the bar and restaurant. Both WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity make it compatible with a wide range of systems and accessories. Outside of the traditional restaurant environment, mobile order taking can be applied to an array of vertical markets such as sporting events, music events, corporate hospitality, leisure clubs, night clubs, VIP lounges, stock taking, etc.

“The OT-100 is an icon of style and functionality for hospitality and catering businesses looking for something to set them apart from the competition,” said Partner Tech UK’s Managing Director, Tim Van den Branden. “In a busy hospitality environment, being able to put an order onto the OT-100 which is automatically transferred to the POS system, then move on to the next customer without having to return to a base station is a real asset. Automating the table service ordering process drastically speeds up the service, eliminates errors, and vastly improves the overall customer service.”
